As Christ came on the seen there was a pre-existing “enmity” based on a “mutual dislike of each other’s customs.” But was reconciliation part of “the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Eph. 3:11)? Yet according to the Amplified Version, God would “make plain [to everyone] the plan of the mystery [regarding the uniting of believing Jews and Gentiles into one body] which [until now] was kept hidden through the ages in [the mind of] God who created all things” (Ephesians 3:9).
